You know, its really too bad. Zack will be another Greg Maddux when he was with the Cubs. A 20 game winner on a loser. EVER notice Hillman talking to the younger players in the dugout after a bad play or a bad at bat? NEVER! He never counsels with the young players giving them a atta boy or anything. As long as they are owned by the cheapskate from Walmart they are doomed. Then again thats American league baseball. The DH, no strategy, no thought process, just sit back and wait for the 3 run homer. Also with so much young talent, (Im serious) dont you think trey should have a set line-up? Getting the youngsters playing together on a daily basis? Thats how a team gels, NOT by putting the totally inept Pena at short, and changing the line up on a daily basis. Just my 02 worth.

jackb, I would have agreed with you about the cheapskate from Wally World a few years ago. But (even with the way we are looking this year) we are certainly on the right path. Dayton Moore would not be here if he wasn't sure he could turn the Royal's into a winner.

Dayton could have had almost any job in the major's but he chose the Royal's. I tend to believe that Glass himself assured Dayton that he would do what's necessary, money wise, to put a winner on the field.

We are a few years away still, you can't turn around what Glass let happen to the Royal's in just a few years. We have some of the best young prospects in baseball still down in the minor's. It's frustrating as a fan because I want to win now, but I believe we're finally doing the right things. Keeping our good young players, while drafting a developing from within (Tampa Ray's).

I think you are TOTALLY correct. I rambled on but my point is the ever changing line up. I really dont believe Trey has a clue who can do what, and in my opinion, that should have been sorted out in spring training. Players adept at playing several positions are utility players, not everyday players. Ever see the Yanks (not a fan) moving Jeter, Arod or Cano around? No, and thats how they get used to playing together as a team. I agree Moore is a genius. I just think Hillman mis uses under utilizes the players.

Earlier in the year I would have thought you were wrong about Hillman, simply because you don't know until you try people in different spots and you know how they will perform. This far into the season though that doesn't fly.

Hillman is no doubt on the hot seat. Glass is not raising the payroll to not see results. He may be gone before the end of the season if things don't start consistently getting better.

I think you are right on the money with that assessment. I would like to see the longtime hitting coach from Atlanta get the opportunity. I can not for the life of me remember his name, but it was tossed around before they hired Trey.

You know whats funny about this is when you listen to that dummy Ryan LeFevbre announce Royals games, he is obviously a hometown fan. They do this right, they do that right, etc. etc. You listen to the announcers on this past game of the week,(Saturday) and they tell you the REAL story. no hit, no defense, no speed. Also watch how often a player will have a good 3-4 games with timely hits, and then Trey sits him! RIDE THE HOT HAND!!! Hillman is an idiot! Sorry to vent, but they DO have some good young talent that Hillman grossly mishandles.
