I have tried several of the recipes on CDC and love all of them. Try the crappie bisque which is outstanding especially with a cold frosty bottle of Busch Beer and crunchy bread. Plus add some shrimp to the recipe and it's even better. Baked parmesean will really thrill your friends who claim to not like fishy taste. Fish taco's are good but wouldn't use beer batter or even bisquick 7 up one as it makes too much breading on them IMO. Panko flakes or simply cornmeal/flour combo's are good and basic. Just try simple sauteed veggies in pan with olive oil/butter and then put crappie filets in late without anything but salt and pepper and it's awesome and very quick. use mustard or miracle whip instead of egg bath gives it different taste too.

We have had to change how we cook just about everything. Sheryl has had to change about everything in her diet. The good part is that she has lost 70 lbs and I have lost 65 lbs. The bad part is how to fry fish if you can’’t eat flour (gluten) or corn? Finally came up with this. We use a food processor to make oat flour out of Quaker Oats. Then we mix that with instant mashed potato flakes and season with seasoned salt and pepper. Makes a very nice breading. Haven’t tried it on venison yet but I think it will work. Just wondering if oat flour will make a good gravy.

God bless Charlie Brewer and Bobby Garland.
Congrats, you guys!! That's awesome! Did you go have one of them food alergy/sensitivity tests done?
Yes. That’s just the start of it.
Wheat (gluten)
Corn
Soy
Dairy
Eggs
Sugar (pre diabetic) gone now.
We are able to add some things back in limited amounts so we use an egg wash but with coconut milk. And some dairy but not much.
If anyone else is fighting some of the dietary problems, send me a PM with your phone number and we will talk about some things she is doing outside of the box to make things more palatable. Mom doesn’t just know how to make cobblers, she is a serious cook and will play with a recipe until it’s right.

Miss Sherie had done that test a while ago, and then my youngest son Sam. A few differences between them, but a lot of similarities. No soy for Sam, no dairy or eggs for either of them. Thankfully gluten didn't make the list so it is a lot easier. But I'm tellin' ya, Sher lost a lot of weight cuz of it and feels way better.
They're tryin' to get me to do the test but...I don't really want to know!! I'm afraid it will be beer and BBQ on the list!!
Tonight we did the fish taco thing. All fresh vegetables for ingredients, 'cept for the beer battered, deep fried (in coconut oil) fish. For the sauce we just did lime zest and lime juice (along with a few other spices) and vegan mayo and vegan sour "cream" and it made a fairly decent sauce.
Freakin' awesome.
Took my buddy sailing yesterday. His inlaws are Chinese and live with him. He said about 30 seconds after getting home the fish were gutted, scaled and in the wok.![]()
