Pacemaker installed yesterday. I was awake entire time, an experience fer sure. Doc opened a 2" incision below my left collar bone and entered an artery, ran two wires through it to inside my heart and implanted them, then hooked up the "generator" that monitors and supplies the electrical signals and did a bunch of testing. Battery life about 10 years. I have a monitor that sits on the table by our bed. Each night it collects the days info stored in the generator and transmits it to the manufacturer who sends it to my cardiologist.
Heart is working at the right beat speed and no erratic beat. I feel better already. Pretty sore and bruised but that will pass.
OMG virus is only thing keeping me from fishing now.
And my cardiologist is about 18 months ahead on his Mercedes payments.
