Mike is right. Everything points towards not being on the water in the first place as there was plenty of warning time.

I was in the McDonald's drive through in Reeds Spring at 6:45. 5 Miles north of the swamping. I was on the East side of the building with the wind coming from the north by northwest.
My Pilot was buffeted around and I thought, am I in a Tornado? It was blue sky and calm 2 minutes before the winds started and that front was a fast mover.

Hopefully the companies will do something different.
Heed weather warnings.
Canopies with thin sections that can be pushed through or back sections not covered without seats.
All wear Auto inflate life vests and collect at the end of the trip.
Rapid fill airbags that could keep the machine afloat if tripped in an emergency to buy more time.
