The box store tractors are made by different companies at different locations based on pricing, quality and delivery.
MTD / Yardman / Troy bilt: Various mfg. locations. They bought Cub Cadet to use the name as Cub was associated with very good quality at one time.
Husqvarna is out of Orangeville SC
Deere is out of Fuquay-Varina NC for most of their consumer tractors
Briggs / Snapper: Wisconsin & NY
Toro / Exmark: Wisconsin & Minnesota
Commercial Mowers:
Toro / Exmark Wisconsin & Minnesota
Briggs: Ferris out of NY
Jacobsen: Dixie Chopper AR
Excel / Big Dog / Hustler: Hesston KS
Bad Boy: Batesville AR
Kubota: Gainsville GA
Schiller: Wisconsin
Moridge / Grasshopper: Kansas
Metalcraft of Mayville (Scag); Wisconsin
