Is there not a pressure release screw in the side of the T/T unit that you could have put a screwdriver in and release the motor back down ??

I had my T/T relays go out, and the motor was trimmed up too high to get it in a 10x20 storage shed. I forgot all about the release screw, and didn't remember it until I was looking online for instructions for checking/changing relays.

BTW .... most of those release screws are in the side bracket of the big motor's mount. There's a hole in the mount (mine is on driver's side - Merc 90 ... but I don't think all brands have the hole on that side )
