Well long story short. I scrapped the whole HDS8 Deal and ordered a new Elite7ti totalscan from Brian at BBG Marine. Got it installed and love it. Gonna take some learning on the side scan but the chirp and DI is really good.

There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
