I killed 16 of them year before last out of my yard. They will flat tear your yard up digging for grubs and worms. They come out right at dusk and a .17HMR will flat tear them up. If you kill or trap them wear gloves when handling them they are known carriers of leprosy.
I started using grub killer on the lawn at about twice the recommended dose and that kept them at bay last year for the most part. I only killed 2 all year.
