If you run out of the little rascals, come to my house and get some of these.

I probably won't get that carried away! But I haven't had fried squirrel in a few years now, might have to dust off the old single shot .22

Got to share this. Spent a week at Santee with some old buddies a couple of weeks ago. One from Atlanta is a trip unto himself. He lives in downtown Atlanta and bought a Gamo air rifle to deal with the squirrles. He said he shot one and an owl flew down and picked him up and flew off.
About a week later, he shot another one, The owl flew down and landed by the squirrel, looked up at William standing on the porch with the door cracked open, saluted, picked up the squirrel and flew back in the tree.
If you have had a couple of adult beverages under your belt when you hear this tale, it is much funnier.

Been years since I have had a good mess of tree rats! My dad has a old single shot that I tried to use but me with iron sights is like the blind leading the blind. And dad and I was wanting a mess to fry up. So dad had a old 12 guage pump, and I found some heavy #6 shot. Well I was averaging about 1 squirrel for 3 shots or worse. Dad and I figured by the time we cleaned all the buckshot out of them it wasn't worth it. Plus mom got upset when she started finding buckshot in her frying pan so that ended it real quick!

I now have a semi auto with a high powered scope on it and I can hit things now.

Maybe I have it all finally figured it out! If I was to mount a scope on my Crappie Rod I might catch more fish!

I HAD to learn to shoot good with iron sights when I was a kid. my grampa would give me his old Remington single shot and 6 CB short bullets, because the limit on squirrels back then was 6. when I got home I better have a squirrel for every bullet missing! of course I was a kid who wanted to plink a little so I didn't like the rule but I guess it paid off because these days I never take a shot at any critter unless I am sure I can hit it.

Yes Fried squirrel. YUMMMMM. Husband uses a 22 with scope also. Hate pellets from shotgun. He usually doesn't go out until late fall when the ticks are gone.
