Most older shotguns will have the type of choke stamped somewhere on the barrel near the receiver. I was always told on a 12 gauge full choke, a dime wouldn't fit in the end of the barrel. I had read that firing a slug through a full choke bore could open the choke out, or worse, split the barrel.

There is nothing attached to the end of the barrel, but being older guns, maybe they have a choke inside the barrel? How would I know - there is nothing on the barrel other than make of gun and shell size...?
