Default Carpal Tunnel Syn. tell me your experience.

I'm left handed. Therefore that had controlled the pitch of the paddle during the MR340. Well, that hand is seriously out of whack now. Index finger is weak, thumb is weak unless I bend it 90 degrees. Using an electric fillet knife was impossible. I'm holding a knife or tool like a fisted cave man instead of with my fingers. Now I'm comparing my left to the right and the muscles in the palm look like they are atrophied and getting smaller. Apt with Dr Danny Carrol Friday evening. Anyone else have carpal tunnel resolved with good results?

I imagine the strain is from all the stuff you been doin. Most people I know that have had the surgery are doing well after the fact.
Some people have told me it helps to wear a wrist brace at night when sleeping to keep the tendon thin and allows the swelling to dissipate. This would be a lifestyle change, not just a short term fix.

had the surgery on left wrist a few years ago, came from letting my left hand rest on the steering wheel driving 150 miles nearly 7 days a week for 30 years..... it helped but took a year and a half for it to really start helping.... was really upset witht he dr. right after, because it didn't seem to help, but dam a year and a half is a long wait, been good ever since.....

Dr. Danny Carrol is the best there is. He has done my Dads wrists, knees and shoulders and numerous other family members surgeries. He will tell you the way it is and not beat around the bush. Good luck with the wrists
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

I had my left hand done and then waited 10 years before I'd let them do the right hand. Smaller incision and faster recovery with the right hand. They've come a long way and it's been something like 7 years since I had the right one done. IMHO it was worth it. The longer you go with the pain, the more damage you do.

Well, don't discount chiropractic. I went yesterday for routine maintenance. Talked about the wrist. He had me squeeze my wrist and he tested the strength before and after the pressure was applied. I got stronger if the wrist had pressure around it. He gave me a $6.50 wrist wrap to keep on it for a week. This morning I'm stronger, the indentions from the atrophied muscles has filled in. Keeping the apt with Carroll for Friday all the same unless I see total symptom relief.

Last summer I ran into a case of corporal tunnel on my right hand from too much throttle therapy on my motorcycle....in all seriousness, I was gripping it too hard. Now, don't start on me quite yet, Keefer.....
Try some aleve and that wrist band with the ball inside it so you can place it directly on the pain spot. It took mine quite a while to subside and I resisted the urge to go to the doc just cuz I was being stubborn. It's good to go for now. I have a throttle lock cruise control for out in the boonies to give me a little relief. I'm heading to WY and MT for a 1400 mile rile on Thursday so I may not be able to walk when I get back, who knows....

Now, let the innuendo chucking begin, I GUESS!!!!

And good luck with the arm, Gordon. Congrats on the river run, too....I bet you saw some awesome scenery!!!
I believe in catch and release.....right into the grease!!!!!
