PULLED into a cove last Wednesday to fish this one laydown way in the back. It's a secret HOTSPOT.......... another boat fishing 75 yards away sees us headin for the "promise Land" and within seconds the great Minnkota race was on............. We got hung up on a stump and had to make a pitrow stop, this guy passes within 2 feet of us leaving a wake with his electric supercharged 36Volt trolling motor. He proceeds to the SECRET spot and catches exactly "0000" fish. We finally get to fishing and boat "10" keepers within 20 yards of his boat......... I say it's a public lake with a fair amount of city slickers who need to learn to share the planet!!!!!!! SAMMICHES for everyone, Fish ON
FISH ON......... inspired by river monsters around the globe.......

Dipholes like that ruin a day for me too. Nuthin wrong with what ya did.
I just keep at least 50 ft from other boats unless I know them. That way I don't have to deal with that kind of BS.

BTW. 50 ft rule is only with anchored boats in tournaments. I've seen some guys on shallow spot channels on Grenada Bow to Aft trying to get the same big fish.

My first attempt at spider rigging was at Reelfoot. First there was one boat, then two, then third one off a little piece from us maybe 50 yds or so. I hear a boat coming and look. Billy (as it turns out) coming out of Blue Bank, and about 4 or 5 right behind him. Within thirty min. there are thirty boats within a 150 yd circle probably. Haha. If everyone is going the same way, it doesn't bother me a bit. If we're tangling lines then that's too close. Being cutoff real close when I'm on a straight line drifting with the wind is what chaps me.

It was ok, Hogster was holding his hand so I thought, "what the heck" and went for it.

Several years ago on 1 of our very first trips to MT for crappie we were tied up to a group of trees and fishing and catching. Now I use small rods. Panfish rods are 5 ft. Don't own those long things. I am short and those 5 ft. ones fit me just fine. I also had on this huge round bobber that the crappie had a hard time pulling down. Well they actually couldn't they just took it on a tour. We were catching fish really good and some big ones also. Well a guy comes up behind us with his REALLY long poles and starts dabbling the tress right behind us. he couldn't catch anything with his long rod but I just kept reeling them in with my short outfits. he didn't stick around very long. lol

I tend to approach every boat as if it has in it what is in mine . I have no problem staying 20-35 yds. min . Everyone has a comfort zone so some may think you were to close .
