You're going to be in a lot of pain for a while, but the important thing is take the pain meds every 4 hrs as prescribed and really attack the physical therapy to get your motion back. When I had my knee done the dr told me to concentrate on getting the motion back within 3 wks and then I could build strength the rest of my life if I wanted.....now I can squat or kneel with no pain....never did work on the strength tho....lol. Don't just do the p.t. 2 or 3 times/day....do it all the time you can stand it.
