Is there gonna b a central gathering place or campsite
Smitty, once we get everything set in terms of campsites, who's going to be where, etc. I would imagine things will fall into place and we can discuss further when the dates get closer. I, for one, am all for a couple beverages around a campfire.
Heck, we could even plan a feed one of the nights! If that's the case, I'm sleeping in my boat instead of trailering back to my cabin!

folks, I apologize. I have been dragging my feet the past week. I have yet to call the campground and get solid info for ya. I will do that tomorrow and post what I find out... unless I go fishing again....seriously, I'll call tomorrow morning.
I was going to mention a possible pot luck type dinner one night but haven't made it that far yet... haven't called the campground up yet to see which loop we would be using so I am not sure where we would have the dinner and gathering spot. I'm sure the park office will have all the details for me.
if it's anything like a catfish gathering I attend, we will just pick a loop and make individual reservations, then just pick the handiest campsite for a good B.S. session.
Greg,
Once you get confirmation on the campground I can run with either additional arrangements or the Feed Night. Looking forward to it!

OK, I just got off the phone with the man at the campground. he said the "Puma" campground loop is the one for us. if we reserve the campsites in the lower section of that loop, we have access to campercabins B,C,D, and E, along with about 15+ campsites, including family sites and handicapped sites, right there. there are 3 water faucets right there, spare parking and the shower houses are close by. the down side is that these sites are by reservation only, and they will fill up fast. so get it while the getting is good!!! also, as all state parks now, if you camp on a weekend, you have to pay for friday AND saturday night. according to the manager, there are plenty of great spots for us to sit around the fire and b.s., as well as for getting our grub on!
You da man Greg!
Get to it ya'll, not one to be missed!

Will those of us not staying at the campgrounds have to pay to get into park for visiting? Just wondering myself and measure em will be at the Southfork Resort. Already made reservations looking forward to meeting folks.
nope! you just tell the fine folks at the gate (IF they are even in there) that you are with us and they will issue a visitors pass, no charge. early in the morning and later in the day there won't be anybody there and you just drive right on in. you might run into a guy in a golf cart, that would be the campground host. again just tell em whats going on and it won't be any problem.
however, you wouldn't be able to use the boat ramp in the campground. but that's not too big of a loss, really.
