    ya'all are missin out on prime, unpressured deer hunting! I like the first 3 weeks of season as much as I like the rut. plus if this drought keeps up, it will be easy pickings..... if there's any water to hunt.

    They are off to a good start Scott ! When it cools off , I plan on scouting a few more areas around Smithville . I have this week off , so I plan on doing some fishing too .

    I'm ready for my yearly migration from southeast mo to northeast mo, my favorite 6 hr drive of the year! I need some redemption from last year!!!

    I am pumped and ready to go. I have been shooting a little and watching the outdoor channel every chance I get, and when I am not watching it I am ready my Eastman's bowhunting Journal. That is a magazine that will make you want to go hunting on a 100 degree day, Love it.

    I spend most of my spare time in a tree in the fall, I agree that the early season is the best time to hunt mature bucks because they are on a feeding patern. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Showed the ms.s a pic of a nice ten pointer in velvet 1/4 mile from the house she wonders why I go the the Ia. border to hunt? Told her maybe its not the deer then the fight started. ha ha.
