Don't think trucks are required to have a rear plate in Missouri.

The smaller trucks are required to have two plates front and back , not sure where the break over is my 1500 has to have two.

Why is that ? I just moved here a few years ago from Tn. And all vehicles were required to have rear plates , but no plates on the front . I would think from a law enforcement standpoint , it would make more sense to have plates on the rear .

If a truck is licensed for 18000 lbs and heavier, they only have a front plate. They usually pulling trailers.

Mo Dot wants them on the front so they can see what you are licensed for before you pull on the scales.
