Well said Jerky Log. I feel the same way. I am going anyway so may as well have company. If rigging or tipping our jigs my buddies will get minnows and drinks most times. Bob, Jim and several of us take turns who's boat we take. That works really well and when I fish with them we fish the way they like to and when with me we fish the stuff I like to fish. Get to try other methods that way. Mark I am a trip up on you so this fall or when ever you get time we will have to get out.

I am very lucky to have a fish buddy like the one ive got. We try to split all of it. He dont own a boat has in the past. We have fished broke equip.ect.Some times he gets the short end on gas but he syas hey, you maintain the boat ins ect. and you keep it up on repairs , just last mo. was over 500dls. It takes for him to come from spfd.to willard to stk and run a 60hp about 30dls a trip plus tackle. So if you just ride. Open your wallet. It cost to have a good trip. This day and time I donot think 30dls is out of line. If You dont like it buy your own boat and trk. &INS ON BOTH

the best thing to do is find a buddy with a rig and take turns, you take yours one time and go with him next trip. people who've never owned a boat and truck have no idea what it cost per trip, not counting the mantainence cost. if someone is curious about crappie fishing and wants to try it out i will usually take them a time or two on my dime. if someone who doesn't own a boat consistantly wants to go they need to pay for the truck gas. i have to drive 1-1&1/2 hours to fish, so the cost can add up.

Yah I had a guy who wanted to go with me all the time. I'm always ready to go but after about the fifth or sixth time and he hand't even offered to chip in, and then he had the audacity to get lippy when I pulled my hat off and ask for a chip in. I didn't even say 20 bucks or whatever hell even something if a guy is broke its the thought that counts (he wasn't broke just greedy btw) so needless to say he and I don't fish together. If your throwing in 15 bucks thats nice, but 20 25 bucks is a little closer. Hey something is better than nothing though.

Back when I didn't have a boat I would always pay for the truck gas and the boat gas. And I didn't mine paying for any bait that was purchased! I felt so lucky just to be asked!

I fish with 3 or 4 guys and each has his own boat, so we just take turns, if I am taking mine, I tell them to stop at mcdonals and get two sauage/biscuit for ron and I, and we do the same when we go with them..... and all of us donate our boats for putting in beds,etc.... used to have a friend come over from Kansas and fish with me, never expect anyone to pay, I am going anyway, well couple years goes by, and haven't opened my glove box, finally looking for something and opened it up and there were 4 20's in there, still mad at him for that...... Thank you Mr. Bob Cheek.....
