    Default Skegg welder around KC or Clinton?


    A buddy of mine emailed trying to find someone around the KC or Clinton area that could weld the bottom third of his skegg back on. His normal mechanic is in Nixa, but he'd rather not haul it that far. Anybody know of anyone? Any suggestions you might have are really appreciated.

    I run the Skeg Guard brand on mine since i broke the bottom edge off and it works great.Have hit many many stumps and rocks in the shallows and it dont have a mark on it.
    There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

    I haven't noticed a bit of loss in performance in mine.Only thing i noticed different was the water spray off my motor on pad is more pronounced.But like i said before mine is a Skegg Guard brand and it has a little flat foot on the very bottom of it kind like a contact point if it hits anything to help it jump over.
    There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.

    That's what I'd do. Probably cheaper and more reliable than welding and there is no risk of screwing with the electrons in the engine.
