took a buddy bowfishing today on the Mo river, man we had a good time! carp were feeding on the surface behind every wingdam we stopped to fish. mostly silver carp (the jumpers), but we also got a few grassies. total of 42 to the boat, missed waaayyyy more than we hit. love this stuff!
had us a little lunchon the river

well, as far as common carp, no, not me. dirty tasting to me. as far as the silver carp, some people do, and I have tried them..... they do have really white meat and it tasted good to me. but the bones are a problem for me. there are ways to fillet them without getting any bones, but it is time consuming and a lot of work for a little meat.
I fillet them and soak them in their own blood. then I freeze them for catfish bait.
I was about to say... "GREAT CATFISH BAIT THERE!!!" I figured that's what you were after. Nuttin wrong with that approach to stocking up on bait.
The best way to get to where you want to be in the future is to act like you are there TODAY.
