    Default more catfishin...

first off, sorry for the bad pics, they dont do these fish justice, but its hard to get good pics when you fish solo!
now, hit the missouri again today after work. man the weather is nice! the fish were biting, life is good! these were the thoughts going through my head as a pole gets bent doubled. good start, right at 30 lbs. Name: IMAG0018.jpg

then around dusk this little 7lb channel slams a big ol skipjack gut pocket. notice the double hook rig? would have never stuck that fish without that stinger hook.

at this point it was dark and I am thinking I have to work tommorrow, 10 more minutes and I am out. but then another pole starts wiggling and I pick it up, thinking it was another small channel. wait for another series of small tapps.... set hook and ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ goes the drag! fight is on! few minutes later I boat this big blue!

Great report on the kittys. Throw jugs sometimes on truman so enjoy a good kitty catch.

usually the skeeters arent too bad if ya get out off the banks some. so far this year I have not been attacked too bad. on a hot summer night, suprisingly, the mayflies are the worst. I have had nights where I had to wear a bandana over my mouth so you dont breath them in. also makes for a long boat ride coming back to the ramp. Lol!

ummm, never got a pm.... and is what a catfish? Lol. good luck on the river. go get ya some skipjacks and use big cuts on at least one pole. shad are thick at the mouth of the creeks still, I got mine at st. johns in just a few minutes of throwing the net.
