Yes very early due to temps, 2 or 3 weeks in most cases. I would like to think you are right on them coming around again, but losing faith on that thought.
Talked to guys in Iowa that said they been picking them for three weeks, have found them there on Memorial weekend before!
Also talked with some guys from Jeff City in Nebraska that had been to South Dakota and found them up there dried up already.
I think it was last year that a kid found a huge bunch of great big ones down by Adrian a couple of 3 weeks after they were thought to be done. It was on the news and in paper in KC. That is about the only thing I think that holds out hope for more around MO. I also hope I am wrong!!!!!!!!!!
I don't think we'll have that "second round". As weird as this year has been, it's never happened before and if it was going to, the second wave would've already started in Georgia, Alabama, etc. and it hasn't.
I was thinking about running up to Iowa this weekend, but am reconsidering that after reading Jerkey's report. I'm going to see a couple of Iowa buddies tonight, so I'll see what they think.
I'd still like one more good morel day .. but, when it's over, it's over.
According to what I am hearing at the local coffee shop here in Lineville, IA most of the people think that they are done gone.
I picked 4 just by the side of the dirt road close to my house 2 days ago. not real big but sharon said they were good
I plan to go out this weekend or monday and find some if they are there I will post. Maybe that last rain and some warm weather "hopefully" will pop them back up.
It was over weeks ago
