First squirrel, last day.

I made a post about the henry .22, well here is the end result. I made my 8 year old prove last weekend that he could regularly hit a snuff can at 20 yards off hand before I would take him squirrel hunting. Well, he did so I took him and he got his first squirrel. Shooting off hand with open sights. His springer spaniel James retrieved the squirrel to hand. Both boys had a great time and so did dad.

That is a awesome picture! Congratulations to you for a fine job of teaching your son to handle a fire arm and to him for a clean kill and his first squirrel! I made my son carry his gun unloaded until he was ready and now at 19 he is a responsible guy owner.
