I wouldn't do it personally, as i like to watch the dogs work and point. But it looks like it'd be a good way to get a kid to learn how to lead 'em. With the limited number of birds nowadays a kid could get more shots in a day than he would get in three seasons. Don't care what they say, the real deal is different than a clay pigeons. Get the feel and then hunt the real thing.
And yes, it's just an opinion.

Sportsman my foot.. That is absolutely rediculous. Images like this give outdoorsman a bad reputation.

Great way to train young dogs, good for people that cant get out and walk. just because it's not for you lets not bash it.
that would be like crappie fisherman bashing bass, cat, and pike fisherman. we as sportsman should not do it.

Thanks Bug's, if you can't have opinions from both sides what's the point of discussion.

Great attitude KK thats the way things like this should be and not so many folks gettin bent outa shape for no reason....for the record i meant nothing about the aquarium thing i was just making a point, the main reason i won't trout fish is because they're stocked and it just don't feel natural to me.

Not very sporting. Why not just throw chickens up in the air and "kill" them?
I've harvested a lot of birds in my time and I've enjoyed every one of them. This wouldn't interest me in the least.

I like how most of the "hunters" were wearing camo. Heck, you coulda sat in a lawn chair with a radio blaring in the open field and shot just as many as they did! Where are birds thrown from a tower gonna go when they are surrounded by "hunters"? Not bashing, everybody has the right to do as they please as long as it is within the law. You just might not want to use the word "hunt" in your title next time.
Give a man a fish and feed him for a day.
Teach a man to fish and he'll sit in a boat and drink beer all day!

That's exactly what I experienced one year where where some very affluent folks in our hunting group had bought a bunch of pen raised pheasants knowing it was going to be slim hunting on wild birds that season. We hunted a day and a half on the wild birds and then they proceeded to take the pen raised birds out throwing them in the air and blowing the he!! out of them with great delight for them. I was not participating since I hadn't contributed towards the purchase of the birds. I was hunting with a very good old over the hill brittany and a young green brittany and several of the others had their dogs of various ages out there. I suggested that why didn't they plant those birds and at least get some dog work in and fortunately the other dog owners also thought that would be a good idea and that's what was done. To say the least for me it turned out being a very delightful day watching my young pup get weeks of very good experience compressed during that one sashay through the field that afternoon.
