Forum format change, discussion and future poll.

I'd kind of like to see a sub-forum called "road trips", where members can check for interest in putting together a trip to other lakes in Mo, or anywhere else.I'd also like to add an "Ask the Biologist" sub-forum. I don't know if our resident biologist wants anything to do with that, but we could post questions for any trained person to answer.

We could make both of those ideas which I like a sticky at the top of the off topic or general fishing forum. The road trips one would be a good place to post good places to stay, eat, guides and etc. for lakes that people may travel to but not know much about.

That's what option one is. It'll be in the poll. I'm looking for feedback on additional options for the poll before I put it up. Everyone will have a vote. But only MO Members votes will count.

I believe that I liked the original format the best, two clicks covered everything. I subscribe to the KISS way of doing things, since I'm of the gezzer age and suffer from CRS.

Yeah, if we could make a "sticky" that would stay on top, it would be great. But just dropping them into "off topic", they get lost too quickly (imo)

We could make them a sticky like the Recipe thread and Picture thread. That way they would stay at the top for everyone to add to and look up info for travel to other lakes. I will look back for all the info that was compiled for spring camp at Truman and fall camp at LOZ and get it started. Maybe we can title one as Truman and one as LOZ and keep adding to each one. Then if someone has info for Stockton, Pomme, Smithville, Mark Twain and other we can add that to. Would be very helpfull for members wanting to travel to other lakes.

I really like the Road Trips idea .. definitely doesn't need it's own sub-forum, like others said, just make it a sticky.

That being said, sometimes the stickys get out of control .. I understand some of them, but you don't need 5 sticky threads all about camp (which seems to be the case around that time of year). Plus, now that there are all these sub-forums, the stickys are spread out .. picture thread on one, recipe thread on another.

It really isn't any big deal and I'm not trying to stir any sort of pot, but if Slab ends up keeping separated sub-forums, maybe one of them should be just for general stickys and announcements. If Slab ends up going with more of general open forum, maybe we should keep the stickys under control. If you need more than one sticky for the same event, it should just have its own sub-forum (even if it's a temporary sub-forum).

Anyway .. just my 1 cent (not smart enough or rich enough to have 2 cents)

I like option #1... with a sticky for tourneys. If option #3 (or something like it) is chosen, "Smithville and other KC lakes" would group things nicely for those in the area.
