Only a few ripe matters so far but lookin good but have had quite a few cherry tomatoes already. I can eat’em faster than I can pick’em. Beagle you sure it’s deer workin the outer rows?![]()
Matt some dill pickles you have to cold pack, some just the boiling water to the jars is all you need.. there are some good recipies on the net, try itsallgud.xom/dill1.html.
pickle this.com quick dill pickles
cucumbers/onions/bell peppers/ in vinegar I add a little sugar let set a day or two and lip smackin good.
everybody nice to see the garden reports, I use to garden all the time, then quit, now doing it again and man did I miss it... I have a lot of trouble pulling weeds, well I remember when I was a kid we had this stand up grass cutter, weed cutter. so I get on line and find on at ACE hardware.. long upright handle. with grip at top, dont have to bend over to cut the grass /weeds arround the plants. now it garden time,,,,,
Keeferfish most of the outside rows were deer.... if they move in to the corn this year I ought to have some good eating.
This was our first attempt at a garden this year. Can't complain. Lettuce and spinach are grown, harvested and done. Put tomatos in their place (late, so...no fruit yet) Peas went in, got harvested (once) and were done producing. Seems I put those in too late, too. Carrots are taking their time but we got a few. Didn't do cucumbers or peppers cuz nobody eats them but me.
Onions are going bananas. Probably have too many of those! And I know it's not real popular this far south, but up north everybody grows them--kohl rabi. I got sh'loads of those. Seems I put too many of those in too! Well, it's my first stab at this, so...live and learn.
I already got changes to make next year!
Oh, yeah...beans went in just this past week, but I've been getting some from my wife's aunt and uncle who planted early.
use to eat them koribis a lot, my old fishing buddy used to grow them, fried, baked, raw, salt, pepper,,, hot sauce good stuff, go for it
