    Default Ethanol free gas?

Can anyone tell me where I can find ethanol free gas around Mark Twain Lake? I'll be staying near Cannon Dam. Thanks for any help! Z21.

Sorry, can’t help you out but for the guys around Smithville - Paradise General store sells it but only the premium. Good luck with your answer.

    Any others around?

I think most 66 stations have ethanol free 91 octane. If that helps

Can't you just add marine grade Staybill to gas to get rid of the ethanol problems. That ethanol crap isn't good for any engine.

Thanks for the help guys.I'll go out of my way not to use ethanol gas. I bought the boat new and to date have not used it yet. As a last resort if I have to put it in I will use marine stabil or starbrite ethanol treatment. Both good products. Z21.

I know everyone hates ethanol but I have never had a problem with it as of yet.

If you know what you are doing and want a cheap race fuel it works great you can run 11:1 or 12:1 off of the e-85

Keeferfish's neighbor with the big red triton shelled a couple of cylinders on his 200 hp Merc last year. The boat and motor were only about 4 years old and while they wouldn't come out and give him a definitive answer, the mechanic at the marina said it was probably due to using the ethanol gas. Apparently, they are seeing these issues come up quite a bit. He ended up having to get a completely new motor because it was going to be such a costly repair with a less-than-favorable warranty in the end. I do have to say that new 2 hunert is a quiet running thing.

I'm staying away from the ethanol.....on the other hand, a new motor would look really cool on the back of old blue!!!
I believe in catch and release.....right into the grease!!!!!

How much do you retard timing with that much compression?

Wilbur I did a little research and the 8-85 has a idle octane rating of around 105 and a usable octane rating near 120. So you can run extremely high compression upwards of 16:1. It retards predetonation so you can run quite a lot of timing advance. I have never messed with it I just ride atvs with people that build motors for their atvs that run on it.
