Keeferfish's neighbor with the big red triton shelled a couple of cylinders on his 200 hp Merc last year. The boat and motor were only about 4 years old and while they wouldn't come out and give him a definitive answer, the mechanic at the marina said it was probably due to using the ethanol gas. Apparently, they are seeing these issues come up quite a bit. He ended up having to get a completely new motor because it was going to be such a costly repair with a less-than-favorable warranty in the end. I do have to say that new 2 hunert is a quiet running thing.

I'm staying away from the ethanol.....on the other hand, a new motor would look really cool on the back of old blue!!!
