Default Two Questions About Boat Covers

First: Any recommendations in the West Central area (K.C., Clinton, Warsaw, St Joe) about good cover makers?

Next: Bass Pro is offering what they call "exact fit" covers....has anyone tried one on their Tracker? Are they close to a custom cover?

The price of a custom cover may be too much for me, but if the BPS cover is halfway comparable, I may be able to get one of those....but a custom cover would be my preference if I can find a guy at the right price.

    Thanks!!

There is a guy on hwy 7 towards Bucksaw that has a sign out for custom boat covers. Another alternative is Cabelas covers. Very sturdy and ratchet type that fit snugly over your boat. They are very high quality. j/m/o

there's an excellent guy in Columbia, MO, but that's probably farther than you want to drive. You might contact him and ask for an estimate. He does fabulous work. Has covered seats and made custom weather curtains for our 28' tritoon. We're ready to hire him again for another job. Will never go anywhere else. Affordable, too.

He took what seemed like 10 seconds to measure the boat and let us take the boat home. Came back when they were ready and they fit like a glove! He does all sorts of stuff.

I went to a guy out in Grandview or Belton named Tim. You can find his number in the white pages under the Master Stitcher. He was recommended by a boat rep at Cabelas. His feeling was even though they said custom fit if you towed it the canvas would rip apart. He did my Lund for about 600 almost 21 feet long with snap rivets all the way around.
If I ever had it to do again I'd go back to him.

Yes, I've heard he does good work, and if I had the money, it wouldn't matter....a good custom cover will last for a long time and I know the math when comparing the two. But 600 just isn't in the budget right now.
