Thread: Need a few Wipers to transplant

I would just throw out a net and setup a bait shop! Some jerk went trot lining several years ago and let loose some gold fish in one of the ponds at the farms. It took us for ever to get rid of those things! And if you don't think a gold fish will get large in a pond just try it!

Not real sure but i believe the selling of a caught fish in the state of Mo is highly illegal. May be wrong but i would check if i was you since its post for all to see on a public board

Ok, thanks. I'll check in to it, guess I'll have to try myself but I don't have a boat. I know I can get smaller ones from the fish farm guys but I doubt 18", could be wrong though.

Probably illegal to transplant fish you catch yourself too - although not much chance of getting caught and no harm done. How about large catfish instead?

years ago used 7 and 8 lb. flatheads to get rid of mudcats in several ponds around spring hill?

cant sell, but you can transplant, and remember when you transplant you will take what ever illness ,fungus,unwanted parasites to your pond, it would be best to trap,or sein every day for a couple months

SK63, If you need somebody to transplant Crappie in or out of the pond, or you need a hand trying to sein them out, send me a pm. I can donate a couple hours on a weekend to help you. Or if you want to go over to blue springs on My boat and catch some white bass/crappie, I'd be happy to help you out.

When there's water running down from Jacomo to Blue Springs lake via the spillway, you can catch whites there. You could walk down the hill at the dam and catch them too.

Buy ya some flatheads and put them in there for the future. They work out pretty good in a small pond and typically don't die off in the heat.
