    Default Boat Question

I have a Tracker Avalanch and love it. Does anyone know why they quit making them?

I think I heard something about it being a mix of cost vs. sales. As I understand it, each hull was a one off, and not easily mass produced. I sure thought they looked like nice boats. If you have owned glass, how would you compare the stability of the avalanche to the glass bass boat?

Before the Avalanch, I had two aluminum Trackers. I got wet all the time in both of them. I decided to go with something that wouldn't get wet and the Avalanch is great. I have ridden in many glass boats and think the Avalanch rides as well as any of them. I have a 150 Merc and it will do 55mph with two people and all my junk. The aluminum is 1/8" thick and it looks just like a glass boat but much lighter. I talked to sales people at the time I bought mine and was told they were selling faster than they could make them. I had to wait 6 weeks to get mine at the end of '04.

They had a hard time selling them with the price so comparable to a glass boat. They were one piece extruded Aluminum that Tracker had Boeing aircraft produced if i understand it right.Same process used in making aircraft wings.
I almost bought a left over 08 from BPS but wanted to ride in one before the purchace and they wouldn't put it on the water for me.Have heard good things about them though.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
