Thread: Looking for a power head need assistance

I checked with insurance and it's not coverd. The boat is only 9 months old and Pros Choice wont help me at all they want to trade it.

9 months old and no warranty?

Dealers typically don't offer more than 1-3 months on a used outboard engine not covered by factory warranty. If its a fresh rebuild or power head some will go longer. Unless otherwise stated in writing you best assume "as is".

Being in the prop business for a number of years, here is what I learned, power heads are not covered by insurance, lower units are, even if you tear the gears out, now don't be stupid about it, stick a dam banged up prop on and they will replace the lower unit, I have wrote many a repair claim in my business to help guys out........

Just a guess here but I'd say you are now officially off State Farm's Christmas card list for this year.
