Thread: Need some advice

Mine aint leather but I wear Rocky Bearclaws. Theyre waterproof though.

Smitty I bought a pair of Danner boots acouple of years ago and my feet never get cold or wet. Now their alittle pricey but on those days your out fishing and your feet are warm and dry its well worth the money. Some people like the Muck boot also.

Yup, Danner Pronghorns are the way to go....... little more expensive, but I've had the same pair for 5 years now, wear them all the time and the only thing I've replaced are the shoestrings.

Not leather, but check out MUCK boots. They are extremely warm and you can roll the tops down if your legs start getting too warm!

rocky bear claw soles will not last, like longliner said Danners are real good and I have a pair of Red Head 800 thinsulate and they are water proof and warm as kesslers silk going down on a cold winter day.

hi smitty!, my vote is for muck boots as well. I can,t brag enough on how warm and overall comfortable they are! mine are the "woody max" they are 8 years old and I wear them every time I hit the outdoors, unless its summer. I wear them even then if its cold and rainy! . I can sit all day in a deer stand and my toes just dont get cold, or I can walk all weekend long turkey hunting and never have I had a blister.
when mine finally wear out I will buy another pair! and dont price em at bps or cabellas, go to your local co/op farm store and they are much more reasonably priced.

My vote is for the Under Armor Cold Gear Socks first then worry about the boots!

I got a pair of Danner Pronghorns several years ago and have loved them from day one. Best boot I ever owned by a long shot. VERY comfortable. They are waterproof (but you have to keep them oiled like any other leather boot), and you can get different levels of warmth depending on how much thinsulate you buy. I must be warm blooded because I don't get as cold as a lot of folks so I just have the 400 g of thinsulate, that with a pair of wool socks works for me. I believe you can get as much a 800g, maybe more I haven't looked for a while. I doubt that I will ever buy anything else in the future.

For bow hunting, I bought a pair of Cabela brand rubber boots, 1200g of thinsulate. They are verywarm too, but heavy heavy heavy.......I much prefer the Danners.
