It was a banner year for us; no, I take that back. it was our best year yet. The son and I both got 10 pointers, him during the youth hunt, me with my bow last Thursday, and we also filled the freezer with 3 does, him 2 over the weekend, and me back in mid-October. I think I posted a pic of my son's nice buck, I'll try to download mine from the cell phone (been having some problems with the phone so don't know if it will work or not). We are set for venison for the rest of the year! It was a good one for sure.

It is Crappie.com and I do not hunt any more but still like to see deer pictures and hear the stories. Brushman that is getting to be a problem down here also. A lot of my old places to hunt have started leasing to the big hunting clubs. Nothing wrong the big hunting clubs. I know a lot of people who are in them. But just to much money for a guy like me that only hunts deer and not all the other game. Trading for fishing trips would be nice for sure.

I don’t gun hunt, but here is my Bow kill on Thursday the 11th. Got to get them before the gun hunters do!

Sorry about the cell phone pics

Nice deer and certainly for a bow. My brother and neice killed a nice 8 yesterday that looks about like that one. But it was with a rifle.

Here is a shot of the one I got last Thursday. He won't win any big buck competitions, but he may win ugliest buck. Right side was a standard basket racked 8 frame with a little kicker next to the brow tine, the left side was a jumble of 5 points kind of going everywhere. He'll be a conversation piece if nothing else. Field dressed at 160 lbs so should be fairly good eatin. 15 yard double lung shot at about 745 thurs morning. I shoot a hoyt v-tec, easton carbon arrows, and montec 100 gr broadheads. He went about 100 yds before he fell, kind of surprised he went that far but they are tough. He was definitely rutting, swelled neck and I could smell him before I saw him when I was tracking him. Be safe out there!

Sorry for the bloody hands, I normally try to clean em off for pics. And notice the cdc key chain hanging from my belt loop.

keeferfish - heck of a nice buck, congrats. That guy is tall AND wide, and them brow tines are scary.

ch68 - tell that young man congratulations, that is great shot! Nothing like that first deer.
