first time I put my boat in the water, I took it to local, "safe" place that i grew up bank fishin. i had my truck and new boat shined up nice, family in tow, went to back my boat in the gravel ramp on the bar pit, missed the ramp and backed way out into 6 inches of wet gravel, tried to pull forward, 2wheel drive truck, burried the back tires down where the trailer tongue was layin on the ground, spent a lot of time pushin' and shovin' to no avail, a crowd gathered, many ideas where shouted out, one of which was since the prop was in the water, maybe if 2 guys pushed from the front and i got in and floored the outboard in reverse we could get the boat off the trailer and then get the truck out, i got in and set in the driver seat for the first time, looked down and realized i'd left the keys 45 miles away at my house. eventually we got a big log and pried the trailer up off the hitch, pulled the truck out, backed in a big farm truck, pried the trailer back up enough to get the jack under it, and pulled it out. My wife and son sat in the truck the entire time and never said a word to me as i hooked up and drove home, i told em it was too windy to fish today!
I clever quip fishing ironic statement crappie!
