Couple times each summer the wife, kids and I will go get a bucket of fried chicken and sit on the picnic tables at George Winter park on the Meramec River in Fenton for a couple of hours on a weekend afternoon.

The entertainment is priceless. Can't beat watching the weekend pleasure-boaters who are inexperienced, sunburnt and drunk bounce into each other and all kinds of fixed objects. Mrs RLSIV says a motivated divorce attorney could make himself a good living setting up a little booth right next to that ramp - seen PLENTLY of husband/wife and boyfriend/girlfriend fights when couples are trying to launch or load a boat... wife backing the trailer down cockeyed, husband screaming at her, etc.
Good times. Only thing better might be having a beer at one of the state park campgrounds at dusk on a Friday evening - watching couples trying to figure out how to put up their new tent and almost coming to blows.
    :D
Teach your kids to hunt and fish and you won't have to hunt for your kids !!

Some boaters can be annoying at the boat ramp and not exclusive to just the jet ski crowd either .
I have seen some fisherman do the same thing . The worst is when they load the boat with tackle while on the ramp , or when they decide to check out the motor for the first time in the season while still hooked to the trailer.
9 out of 10 times the boat will not start and they will crank it until the battery is dead .
Now if I see a person struggling with a boat and in need of help , I will offer assistance no matter what they arrive in , pleasure boat or fishing boat.
I hate to see someone struggle who may be unfamiliar with launching or landing a boat , while others just sit back impatiently and roll their eyes .
We were all rookies at one time and it does take some practice launching and landing a boat .
I have been a part of bass tournaments and they launch and land a boat quicker and more efficiently than any other group of boaters.
