Sounds to me like he got off pretty easy, all things considered. A $3000 fine after having (quite probably) cheated his way to over $120k in amateur winnings? 15 days in jail, but served on weekends?

The biggest blow is that his license was revoked for 5 years and he'll quite probably be banned from any tournament ever again. Still...what a cretin.

Sorry piece of crap he is, no better than robbing someone at gun point. On a side note always felt it wasn't the state game officials place to police cheating in tournaments. Enforce game laws yes, cheating no. An incorrect usage of public funds my opinion. Tournament organizers can either provide integrity for their event or not, its the participants choice then whether they elect to fish or not. When the second place guy wants to fault the state game agency for getting cheated out of first place it's a misapplication of responsibility.
