    Thumbs down My snagging trip

As you know,I've been wanted to try this for years, but something always came up.Finally was able to book a trip with a well known guide service back in Jan.

The plan was to meet me at the boat ramp at 7:30 am tue.,I was staying at the old oarhouse inn.I was excited and at the ramp at 7:15 sipping coffee...7:30.......7:45......8:00...8:15 finally called the owner of the service to see whats up.He answered and said he would check into it and call me back.Well,he called the Inn back and just left a message that there was boat trouble.

The owner of the oarhouse came and told me..to say I was pissed is an understatement!!!Bernie, the owner, went above the call of duty and arranged for me to go out with one of the locals that was going out that day.
He was a very nice and knowlegable older man and I enjoyed the day.No fish caught by anyone that day, thats fishing, but I got to go out.

I e-mailed the guide when I got home..he replied that he was the one that called to check on how my trip was going, and when he found out his guide wasn't there, arranged for me to go out with the local..TOTAL B.S.!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have copies of my e-mails and cellphone time and # of when I called.I gave him a chance to come clean in the e-mail before I posted this, but it was just excuses..I will P.M. you the guide service if anyone wants to know.

Anyways, Thanks to Bernie at the oarhouse and Ben O' for taking me out..2 class acts!

Wow! That was a sorry excuse for a guide service but with service like that he won't be around for long. Glad you at least got to go with the local. Thumbs up to the inn owner.

Sorry to hear about that Cook. Sucks when you look forward to something and it does not pan out. Thumbs up to the local and the owner of the Inn for stepping up. IT WILL GET BETTER!!

Cook I am sorry that something like that happened to you. I know how much you were looking forward to the trip. I would also send a note to the Warsaw area Chamber of Commerce telling them about what happened.

Sorry about Cook, guess you'll have to catch a bunch of cats and crappie to cope.

Hate to hear about bad experiences with guides. Most are hard working, honest folks but there are a few that give everyone a bad name.
