spring runoff/flooding
No facts to back it up,but I have a feeling the water is going to be running high and muddy, more than the normal spring floods. Some areas around here have snowfall that is in the top 10 amounts for the past 50 years, and the ground has been frozen for too long to slowly absorb it all winter. All of a sudden, its close to 60 today,,and chances of rain 4 out of the next 7 days.
I saw St.Louis had 6-7 inches above normal rain last fall...it could get ugly.
Jake said early they draw smithville down every winter, about a foot or so..web site said its over 2 feet low,but I spy with my 2 little eyes, thats its much lower than that..the free ramp has about 30-40 feet of exposed bottom before you hit water.
Bet it won't take long to refill.
