Good read and I don't mean to kick any hornets nest but what happened to those kids that grew up during that time? They were the parents of my generation and I grew up during the nintendo, birth of the internet, and cell phone. I think I was born 100 yrs to late. lol Everyone wants to much anymore, it is way to fast pace, rush your life away and not have time to enjoy what you have. I am guilty of doing this myself. That is why I fish and hunt. We have came so far in such a short time that the good ole days are long gone and you cant go back, but it is nice for a young gun like me to get a glimpse of what was. Thx

Great read. thanks. Wish I could get my son half as excited about the outdoors as I am. We moved here from philly to get away with the fast pace out there. With all the electronics nowadays thats all they think about. My kids like the outdoors but would not choice it over a computer or video game.

    Just cause I look OLD doesn't mean I am old. I wasn't even a thought in the 50's. :D

we had ash trays in our cars also.......... and 1 1/2hp outboards......
Yea, there a bunch of things that I can think of to add to the list. Like furnaces and air conditioners; had neither where I lived, a wood burning stove and an open window was our "climate-control" system. :D I could go on forever, but I don't want to bore anyone. Simpler time for sure; and , honestly, in so many ways I believe they were BETTER times to grow up. Sure, a lot of the modern conveniences are nice I have to admit, but simple ain't too bad either.
We do not want the gift of a fish; neither do we expect a lesson on fishing; what we direly need is a chance to fish

Great read grb. Makes me long for days when I was younger with not a care in the world. Good memories for sure.
