I have to agrre with this. It is a fine line you must walk, and with that said you do a hard job very well. Possibly in future if a post has context that borders think about it and maybe pm the author to discuss it. this is the best group of people I've never meet. Great advice. always free with it too. Can not wait till camp to meet some of them. Are you going to be there?

In our government-controlled schools we are taught that Lincoln was our greatest president because his war ended slavery and saved the Union. As usual, the other side of the story – the side that reflects poorly on the government – somehow gets lost. – Richard J. Maybury, The Abe Lincoln Hoax
I don't really have a dog in this race here on the MO board...but I will say this as I run into the same thing over on the MS board. We got two forums one for fishing related stuff and then off topic board for everything else just as you do. To keep the boards in order and neat and clean...you have to sometimes move threads from one board to the other. Sometimes it can be kind of border line whether its fishing related or not or vice versa...all any mod can do is just make a judgement call and go on. There is no reason for anybody to get upset...their posts have not been deleted...they are still there just moved to another board.
I have spent most my life fishing........the rest I wasted.

I'm fairly new to this board, but admin 3 others with a total membership of well over 5k. That's right, I said 5K members.
When it comes to a situation like this, it is ALWAYS in the best interest of the "board" to take a long look at posts that are supposedly over the proverbial line.
Before you take any action.
I've done that with the post in question here, and have looked at the responses to it and of course this thread.
Remember, this is only my take on this "situation" and probably doesn't mean squat, but here goes.
The post wasn't over the line. I took it as a sign that both the weather & fishing would be making a decided turn for the better by the return of the robins. A sign spring was close behind.
Beagle seemed to get PO'd about it. But, did he PM or contact whoever moved it? Did the person who moved it let Beagle know he was moving it?
So, you can see where someone could get an attitude about it.
With all this being said, it is never easy to admin a board. If it were a member that was a "problem type" it would be another story.
I believe in this instance, that is definitely not the case.
So, what to do? If I were the one that moved the thread, I would be the one to contact Beagle, and try to get him back on this board. Plain and simple.
For those that are overly concerned i just talked to beagle and we both explained our take on the whole thing and much to the dismay of a couple of folks we're still friends.......

It has gotten blown out of proportion. Several posts got moved to the off topic board. It's a judgment call that has to be made by the moderator(s). It's not personal, therefore, shouldn't be taken that way. I've had my fingers slapped here more than once and will probably happen again but I don't take it personally.![]()
