    Default Did you ever have an "OH CRAP" moment?


    Speck Jr. comes home last night and asks, "Hey Pa, are we going black powder huntin this weekend?" To which I reply "Sure, sounds like fun." I then recall Santa bringing me a set of fiber optic sights for my muzzle loader last Christmas. Can't wait to try them out. Then it hits me. OH CRAP, I havent sighted them in yet and the season starts Saturday. When I installed them last year, I remember roughly trying to bore sight them but dont remember shooting them in. I rushed home from work, grabbed the rifle out of the safe and headed to the woods behind the shop. Hung a target and stepped off 10 yards. Dang these sights show up good. BANG. about 1 inch left of center. Not bad says I. Stepped off 50 yards. Reloaded. BANG.Still about 1 1/2 inchs left of center. Good Enough! I just keep thinking what would have happened Saturday if buckzilla walked in front of me only for me to realize these sights havnet been sighted in yet.:o
