Was in my college days and had to wake up a little early to go to the auto auction with my grandfather. While I was getting ready I saw the smoke pouring out of one of the buildings and the news didn't know what happened yet really.

Then the second plane hit so I started to wake up some friends who had crashed at my place. No one really wanted to get up and I remember telling "seriously, you need to watch this." So we sat in my living room for a while and watched until they had both collapsed.

I went to the auction with my grandfather, who had lost 3 brothers in WW2. I don't know why but that seemed so relevant at the time and still does to this day. I spent the day with some older guys and it was interesting to hear what they had to say. Generational gaps became very evident.

Weird, as I was typing this my mother called me telling me to go to cnn.com. She was talking with my best friends since pre-school's mother. He has been in Afghanistan for almost a year now. Anderson Cooper I guess is inbedded with him there now and there are some pics of him on there website. The story was about removing IED's in Afghanistan and I seriously got goose bumps after that call. It kind of ties everything together I guess.

Kind of rambling but it is tough to express what I was feeling and why those thoughts came into my head at that time.

God bless our troops!
