    Default Springfork Lake

Anybody ever fish Springfork Lake right outside of Sedalia? I've fished there numerous times and have only caught 1. Yep, out of the 15+ times I've fished there I've only caught 1 fish. It was a very large crappie but still that was the only one. For any of you folks that have been successful there, do you have any advice?

It has been a few years but I have fished it. Had the best luck along the dam area and more so the East end of it. Bwillaub fished it a few times this last spring and summer with some success on crappie and big gills. He will chime in on here I am sure. Welcome to the site.

Howdy, Charley. Welcome from Knob Noster. I fished Springfork several times last Spring and Summer with very good success. I fish it from my 2 man boat.
Caught multiple species of fish every time out. I was fishing mostly for crappie and gills but an occasional bass or catfish would interrupt my fishing for a minute or two. The crappies aren't big, 8 - 11 inches, but they are numerous and tasty. The gills are 8+ inches and put up a good fight. I caught 7 redears over 10 inches last year also. I fished mostly at the farthest end of the lake where the creek feeds into it. Here are a couple of pics from Springfork taken last Summer. I'll be fishing it a lot more this Spring and Summer. If I can help, just let me know.
