Hey Speck, Are you hearing anything down towards Table Rock. I am going Sunday and I will update you. The last few days here have been pretty and Saturday and Sunday look to be promising days. I am going to try out longlining if the wind will allow it and if not, I will drift.

Hey guys my name is Travis and I am a long time lurker on the forums. I figured it was probably time for me to join. I am new to the Missouri side and I will probably do most of my fishing this year at Smithville Lake since I don't live to far from the lake. I am looking forward to getting out there and getting some fishing done. Since I am new to the area I wouldn't mind hearing some recommendations for some good bait shops in the area of Smithville Lake.

Evening. Guys. Dave is the name. My inlaws bought a place down on Loz and hopefully will be making regular trips down to get on some nice crappies. Any advice would be great about where to even start as this will be our first trip down. From the Okoboji area. Fishing has been real poor up here this winter. Heading down tomorrow for a five day fish.

Hi Travis....welcome to the site! There are two local baitshops around Smithville. Depending on which direction you approach the lake, you would use Burton's Bait or Ectonville C Store. Burton's is located on 169 Hi in Smithville and is directly across from the Price Chopper. Ectonville is located on Hiway 92 just West of C. If you are interested in other types of tackle, Roger's Sporting Goods in Liberty is a one-stop super store for most outdoor things.
