Thought I would help keep this thread going. Pretty cool that it's been around for 4 years. My name is Javier (Jersey Guy). Grew up in Jersey fishing the ocean and Raritan Bay for stripers, fluke, blue fish and sea bass. Bought my first boat not long after I bought my first car and have been throwing money in that hole in the water ever since. Moved out to Kansas about 8 years ago and had to teach myself how to fish all over again. We have lakes out there but the action in the ocean was always better (and bigger). Fished Perry for catfish out of a pontoon for the first 5 or 6 years that I lived here and never had a lot of success. Caught a lot of fish just nothing to brag about. I moved to Smithville last year and discovered crappie fishing and I'm hooked. Fishing in a pontoon is pretty tough at Smithville so it had to go. Just bought a fixer upper bass boat and I can't wait to get it going so I can get after some slabs. I'm 38, married to my favorite fishing buddy Erin. I have 5 kids and 3 dogs and work as a freight broker. You guys have a great site here. I've already learn things that would take years to learn through experience and time on the water. Keep the Smithville posts coming and I'll make sure to throw out what I know. Thanks everyone.
