    Default Fall trout stocking

I checked the hotline and heard trout have been stocked and headed out to see if they are biting and they were. Using hand ties they were all over them and ended my morning session with 20, all released. This was the first one and the biggest at 18". Several others hit the 15" mark, good size for the early season. Going again today.Name: IMG_5565.jpg

These are just a tiny slice of my ties. Hot colors have been the bright green heads with olive grizzly marabou and the minnow imitation duck feather jigs that will catch anything that swims. I carry two rods and alternate between the two. Hook sizes range from #6- #12. Name: IMG_5571.jpg

Those are some nice hand ties. We trout fish a lot in the summer and early fall when the crappie lakes get a little warm. In north central Arkansas there is a sixty mile stretch of the White river that is legendary. They continually stock those water two to three times a month at several locations.

Trout can be fun to catch, they put up a pretty good fight. Those are nice flies....
