Been running 4 stroke mercs since there inceptions. They are very cold blooded and when it does start I go nowhere for a few minutes not even off the trailer. Let that oil and block warm up. And once your motoring in gear, give the lower unit a little while to warm up, 30 degrees is a mild day as yesterday we just barely got out of the teens. Choke and hit the key. If no start retry. Never crank over ten seconds. It will pop off but 4 strokes can not be forced to start if they don't want to. When I'm out on a cold day I seldom shut the motor back off till it's back on the trailer. It can be tuned by a pro to start easier but should be re tuned in the spring. Good luck with a really good engine.
