I look for bait fish ....in the lakes I fish in MS that is shad. Find large concentrations of shad on your fish finder and run your crank baits a couple feet above them. I run them 1.6 to 1.9 mph. Most of the time I am following the edges of old creek and river runs that were there before the reservoir was built. I use Pico crankbaits.
