I live in Washington so I know how much fishing pressure the Missouri gets. The rod and reel fishing on the Missouri is very dependent on water levels and time of year. I agree that it has been tough with the constant high water we have been seeing.
The barge wakes downtown are comparable to what I see on the Missouri. Except usually they go by one at a time on the big muddy and downtown there maybe a couple loaded barges and a half dozen tugs going back and forth. The empty tugs are usually worse than a loaded barge. And the larger private vessels we sometimes see are worse yet. Be careful out there man!
