What I have learned.
Buy or make you a lure retriever.
Stay away from trees and brush that comes up less than 10 ft.
Right after spawn fish the flats till it starts getting real hot you will know because the fishing will get real slow.
Move to steep bluffs that have shad balls suspended have some lures above and some below shad to see what the fish prefer.
1.4 to 1.8 has been my go to speeds but I have caught them up to 2.5 mph. Trial and error has been my best teacher and each lake is different as to what speed depth and color preference. Just my
